what a difference a day makes. Cecil and I went to the house to get some boxes out of the barn. when we got there, there was concrete being poured for another portion of the driveway and being covered by heated blankets. (the weather was going to turn and become cold and snow), there were stone workers veneering the side of the house and retaining walls and plaster workers putting texture on the walls. it was a busy place and what a change that was made in one day.

the posts were originally going to be square at the base, but the base had to be 2 feet by 2 feet. that made the columns really large. in some areas, it looked like a wall of stone. so the guys came up with this column detail. the bottom is still 2x2 to cover the pipes and concrete but doesn't look so large at the top
