these pictures were taken on the 18th. Cecil told me that i don't take any pictures of his barn. there are actually two barns, one that he calls his shop it the one on the left. it is 60 X 30 feet and is his pride and joy. at the moment, it contains his tools and all of the boxes that we have so diligently been packing, it is full. the other barn on the right is a 4 stall horse barn with a feed room, horse shower and tact room. it is also full of things that are going into the house, such as bath tubs, etc.
this is the old two car garage that is being turned into the craft room/ office/ study/ library. it will be a little of all things. as with all renovations, when you start tearing into things you never know what you will find. we had a surprise, the ceiling was bowing in the middle and it was only time before it might come falling down. the whole support system was not supporting it. we had to pull out all of the rafters and start building the ceiling over. we are also going to put a bigger window in.
we decided to make the storage room on the east side of the house the new bedroom since we tore out the 2nd bedroom upstairs. it need windows, so we put in a dormer window like the three existing ones.
as i stated, we tore out the floor of the bedroom to open up the 2nd floor to the main floor. we needed the head room for the new staircase. by the way the storage room was larger than the bedroom on the west side of the 2nd floor. this is a view of the new front door opening and entry way and dining room, there will be some walls separating the dining room from the entry way eventually
